It is with profound sadness and concern that we read the news about the floodings and mudslides that occurred yesterday from the village of Regent, downhill Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, to Freetown and that can happen again in the following days. From Noah's Path we appeal to support the humanitarian action taken by Tacugama's staff in Regent, at the communities in which its environmental education program is implemented. We recommend to visit its Facebook and website and donate. This tragedy reminds us about the importance of supporting Tacugama's conservation program, because of its work to fight local illegal deforestation and human settlements in the denuded slopes.
